We, the members of Spirit of the Sacred Journey CUUPS (Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans) of Surprise, Arizona do hereby and hereon covenant with the Unitarian Universalist Church of Surprise: To enlighten and share our experiences and knowledge with the greater community and to provide a welcoming home for all Earth-Centered practitioners and for all Unitarian Universalist-Centered practitioners.
We honor and abide by the Principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association, especially the 6th Principal of the UUA: “Spiritual teachings of Earth-Centered traditions which celebrate the sacred circle of life, and instruct us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature” and the UUA 7th principle; “Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part”. We provide support to all seeking to live a life more in balance with nature by exploring the teachings and traditions of various Pagan and Earth-Centered religions and philosophies.
We adhere to the mission statement of UUCS, National CUUPS, and the principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association. We promote personal responsibility and integrity, diversity and compassion, competency and education in the pursuit of spiritual balance.
We offer our talents and abilities in service to our fellow congregants at UUCS, and the greater West-Valley community, and will provide celebrations to honor the Earth and its cycles. We respect and will value the worth and dignity of all people.
We honor the Divine in Its many forms, the Earth Mother, and the the various Pagan pantheons of each other with insistence on tolerance and appreciation of diversity. We welcome each other’s differences and commonalities, and will keep confidential matters of a personal nature shared with us.
We will lovingly hold each other accountable to these shared values.
